Start a Meeting
Cavalier Club welcomes new 12-step meetings that serve the recovery community. If you're interested in starting a group at our facility, here's how to get started.
View clubhouse gallery →Identify your fellowship
Determine which 12-step program your meeting will serve — AA, Al-Anon, ACA, or another fellowship. Each program has its own traditions and requirements for group formation.
Find committed members
Most fellowships require a minimum number of regular members to charter a new group. Reach out to your local intergroup or information service for specific requirements.
Choose a time and format
Review our current schedule to find an open time slot. Consider the meeting format — open or closed, discussion, Big Book study, step meeting, or speaker meeting.
Contact Cavalier Club
Reach out to the Cavalier Club board to discuss room availability, scheduling, and any facility guidelines. We're happy to welcome new groups that align with our mission.
Register with your intergroup
Once your meeting is established, register it with the appropriate intergroup so it appears in meeting directories and newcomers can find you.
AA — Starting a New Group
Contact Greater Minneapolis Intergroup for guidance on starting an AA meeting, obtaining literature, and getting listed in the meeting directory.
